SUMMARY:  In response to a Call for Bids, the District has received bids for a ¾ -ton, four-wheel drive, diesel pickup truck.  The bids are summarized in the following table:

As the table indicates, Cypress Coast Ford was the low bidder. District staff has reviewed the low bid and determined that it meets all minimum specifications stated in the Call for Bids.  The amount of the bid is approximately $2,500 less than the budgeted amount.  A small portion of these excess funds will be required to outfit the vehicle with a radio, logos, etc. 

 

RECOMMENDATION:  District staff recommends that the Board authorize expenditure of funds to purchase one ¾ -ton, four-wheel drive, diesel pickup truck at a total cost of approximately $30,500.  The Administrative Committee considered this matter on April 13, 2004 and voted  __ to __ to recommend ____________. 

 

BACKGROUND:  The Fiscal Year 2003-2004 Budget includes $33,000 for a ¾ -ton, four-wheel drive, diesel pickup truck.  This vehicle will replace a 1994 Ford F250 pickup truck with approximately 82,000 miles.  This is the only vehicle scheduled for replacement this fiscal year.
